Catching Up with Rachel: A 2022 Look Back

It’s hard to believe another year is about to come and go. And what an inspiring, exciting and busy 12 months it has been. In this month’s blog I’m taking a look back on our favorite, most impactful design moments of 2022.

I always love this time of the year. Not just for the happy, festive energy around us but more so because it gives me a chance to reflect on all that has been accomplished over the last year. I could not have done it without the support and relentless grit of my amazingly talented team. And our hard work did not go unnoticed. This year we were proud to be recognized by our industry peers by being named Boston Home’s Best of Boston Home® 2023- Best Contemporary Interior Designer and included in Modern Luxury Interiors “The 50” list of people and places shaping the design scene in Boston. It’s an honor to be included amongst so much tremendous talent doing what we love.

As designers we are always looking for new inspiration and ideas to bring back to our client’s projects. And this past year brought inspiration at every turn. We toured showrooms filled with the latest in home furnishing and accessories at the High Point Market Spring Event, connected with artisans at the Field + Supply Fall and Holiday markets and immersed ourselves in the latest trends of the hospitality industry at Boutique Design magazine’s annual NYC trade show. For me, inspiration also came from my travels to both Mexico and the Azores. Through the colors within the rich landscapes, the textures of the vegetation and the unique characteristics of the culture, these travels fueled so many new design ideas.

From a project standpoint, this year we revealed our Sophisticated Cityscape project located in The Clarendon, Boston’s exclusive Back Bay residence. Our design for these empty nesters was the perfect blend of urban chic and sophisticated luxury. And a custom made sliding screen wall was definitely the design hero of the space! We closed up the year with the reveal of our Expansive Entertaining project. Located in Wellesley, this suburban gem included the creation of a dramatically detailed vaulted ceiling as part of a new Great room that flowed seamlessly into a chef-worthy kitchen.

This year we kicked off some big projects across Rhode Island. I often mention how much we love working on large scale projects. It gives us the unique opportunity to collaborate with all the various teams from day one to create a beautiful home for our clients to enjoy. Through this work we are able to share so much of the behind the scene details of our process. We look forward to showing you more in the year ahead as all this planning comes to life. And stay tuned for exciting reveals of some of our other projects across New England in the coming weeks and months.

And finally, as we wrapped up an incredible year, I want to thank our wonderful clients who trust us to create and oversee their beloved home design projects. We are always humbled by your excitement to work with us. And thank you to the many builders, architects, artisans and designers for the ongoing support and collaboration that helped us to bring our client’s design vision to life. We are so grateful for your partnership and honored to work with such talent.
