Our 2023 Look Back

2023 went by in a flash, and with it, so many incredible changes and projects were revealed here at Reider + Co. From a rebrand to a cozy island boutique hotel, we have a lot to look back on. Our first Journal of 2024 features a rundown of our favorite highlights of 2023.

Over the past year, we’ve had many exciting collaborations that have given us a chance to push the boundaries when it comes to creating soft, modern, original destination designs for our clients. Not to mention the many events we’ve attended, including the International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF), the Luxury Design Summit, and High Point’s fall market to help inspire and fuel our design.

We also welcomed a new office space for the Reider + Co team and revealed an exciting collaboration as the luxury interior design referral partner for 21 Century Mountainside Reality in the picturesque Lincoln, New Hampshire, near the iconic Loon Mountain.

With so much to look back on, we rounded up a handful of our favorite 2023 highlights.

Throwing Boston a Curve Reveal

Located in The Clarendon, with a goal of customization and functionality, our Throwing Boston a Curve project started with a complete gut renovation to create a haven for our client that felt luxurious yet comfortable. Using luxe materials and finishing across this 2 bedroom, 2.5 bathroom property, we were able to take our client’s very functional needs and turn them into beautifully designed custom features to create a chic and serene atmosphere.

Fashion-Forward Loft Project Expansion

After cultivating a long-standing relationship with the homeowners during the complete design of their urban home, we were invited back to design their expanded space and refresh their existing primary bedroom. The new area included additional living, dining, and bedroom space with plenty of built-in storage for added functionality. The existing primary bedroom refresh incorporated steely grey and metallic finishes, complemented by deep purples and blues, creating a cool and sophisticated oasis.

Completing another hotel project on Martha’s Vineyard

Our continued work in boutique hotel design has helped us to better understand how a sense of place can authentically represent a home’s natural surroundings without feeling overly themed or too obvious. A perfect example is The Coco project, an 8-room boutique hotel steeped with rich history and style. From meticulous sourcing and scheming to precise installation, so much love went into crafting its unique and distinctive design.

Welcoming in Reider + Co

This is a big one! This past year, we welcomed our new brand, Reider + Co, to better represent our role in designing destination family homes. As we mentioned in our official announcement, our rebrand was an evolution rooted in our desire to continue to bring uniquely fresh ideas to our client's home renovation projects across New England and beyond. The rebrand also includes a new website with downloadable resources, easy-to-navigate project pages, and a behind-the-scenes look at our projects in progress. We continue to expand our Reider + Co team to support our clients better, welcoming our newest team member, Kathleen, to help us with our project and procurement needs (and we will soon welcome Krya, our new intermediate interior designer!)

Seeing our projects in the press.

On the heels of being recognized as Boston Home’s Best of Boston Home 2023-  Best Contemporary Interior Designer, we are honored to be featured in some of the most prestigious publications in the industry. This includes an Architectural Digest spotlight on our show-stopping Artfully Inspired kitchen. Our friends at Boston Home magazine gave some love to our Gathering in a Great Room project in its “Geared for Gathering” feature, followed by their “A Time To Grill” piece focused on our Weston Backyard Oasis project. In exciting hospitality news, 21 Broad made Travel + Leisure Readers' 2023 list of top 10 favorite resorts in New England. Our Coco hotel project saw immediate attention with its debut feature in Modern Luxury Interiors Boston.  Rachel also saw some recognition with her acceptance into the Innovative Design Leadership Network and her selection to be a judge at the New England Home’s 5 Under 40 awards, where she was given a front-row seat to the incredible talent rising in the interior design industry.

With 2023 in our rearview, we are moving forward into the new year with excitement as we finalize the design of full home renovations in Cambridge, Concord, Chestnut Hill, and Brookline and enter the final phase of our Coastal Rhode Island project.

Finally, we want to give a huge thanks to all our partners for an incredible 2023. We look forward to more collaboration and unveiling with you in the months ahead!

Live well,

Reider + Co Team
